[Audiere-users] Audiere and Bink

I'm considering changing from Miles to Audiere as a sound engine in our
game (or making this plugable, at least). We use Bink in the game, which
is a video player from RAD gametools and needs to play sound:
http://radgametools.com/binksdk.htm
It says there that they support "the Miles Sound System, DirectSound, or
waveout". Since the idea is to possibly get rid of Miles, my question is
whether I can use one of the other two methods in combination with
audiere. Anyone got any insight or experience with this?

Enno.

Hello Enno:

I'm not familiar with Bink or Miles, but as far as I know, there is
never a problem with multiple instances of DirectSound in the same
application. So since Audiere uses DirectSound by default under
Windows, just configure Bink to use DirectSound, and you'll be fine. I
hope this helps.
